Resilience — why do some people recover quickly from stress while others stay stuck in it?

We often think resilience means toughness — pushing through difficulty without slowing down. But psychological resilience is something different. Resilience is the ability to experience stress, setbacks, and uncertainty while still staying connected to what matters and continuing to move forward. It involves awareness of our thoughts and emotions, perspective during difficult moments, and the willingness to take meaningful action even when things feel uncomfortable.

The encouraging part is that resilience is not a personality trait you’re born with — it’s a set of skills that can be developed. In this MindBridge Minute, I explore the core components of resilience. Contact me if you want to learn more.
